Chapter Seven

Law

I have to say I handled being in a room full of people who may or may not have wanted to kill me, way better than I expected. My mate definitely helped with that. I’m looking forward to getting to know the man better. Although, I think I could go the rest of my life without allowing him to drive ever again. Seriously, I think we had at least five near death experiences he managed to avoid. That semi was the last straw though. Ugh, I get chills just thinking about what could’ve happened. Yeah, never again. Another thing I’m sure of is our claiming. I could tell by the way he looked at me earlier, claiming is what he has in mind when he takes me home with him later. To be honest, I’m more than ready for it. I’ve been alone for so long it’s refreshing to be able to call someone mine.

I’m not sure how I feel about the bossy side of him I caught a glimpse of earlier. I’m a grown man not some twink and if he thinks he’s going to be able to treat me like a glitter queen then he’s got another thing coming. But, first I have to get through this doctor visit. Personally, I don’t think the visit was needed but if it appeases my mate then I’ll go through with it.

Heh, I never expected to be feeling things for the man already but I guess that’s the mate pull for you. Damn thing works fast.

The doctor walks into the waiting area with a clipboard. I didn’t expect an older wolf that still looks pretty damn good for his age. He glances at his clipboard and says, “Lawliet Tremaine. You’re up.”

Caleb raises an eyebrow at me and I blush. I’m aware my name is a bit different which is why I shortened it to Law. No one calls me Lawliet anymore. Standing I walk over to the doctor and say, “Please just call me Law.”

He smiles and says, “Well then, Law, follow me please.”

Caleb and I follow him to an exam room where I have to explain what happened to me all over again.

Doc listens intently and when I’ve finished he says, “I’d like to draw some blood to run a few tests. I’m afraid that even though Caleb’s scent brought you out of the state you were in the drug may not be out of your system. Which means, in a sense, that if you’re away from him for too long, you could revert back to that state. Hopefully, your blood will shed some light on things and fate willing help me create an antidote to the drug. I’m going to get a few things and I’ll be right back.”

He walks out of the room and I cover my face with my hands. Go rogue again? I’m not sure I could handle it if I hurt someone this time around.

Caleb wraps an arm around my waist and kisses my forehead.
